Using the HL7Connect Development Environment to prototype scripts

The HL7Connect Development Environment is a powerful tool to create, test and assist deployment of custom scripts. Scripts can be written to perform a variety of functionality including manipulate HL7 messages automatically as they pass through the gateway, read/write to external databases using data in the HL7 message and write custom logs or data extractions based on HL7 messages.

This tutorial guides the user through the Development Environment and demonstrates how to setup a script that writes to a custom log file based on an event that occurs on the HL7Connect Interface Engine (startup time). This tutorial will give you a basic understanding of the HL7Connect Development Environment.
