The method of selected messages or documents in HL7Connect is similar between the various areas that you may require message selection, such as:

You can select either documents or messages. Under some circumstances the type of content that can be selected is fixed, and you will not be able to choose which type to select.

Four areas of selection criteria are used to select and filter messages or documents.

1) Message or Document Range

A range of messages must be selected before messages can be used for any function.

The selection can be further filtered or narrowed using Message/Document Information (Msg Info) and Resending filters.

2) Message/Documents Information (Msg Info)

Selects messages based on specific message or document details. This filter includes optional fields that can be used to help select based on specific message or document details, such as patient or origin of the content.

NOTE: If a selection criteria is not required for filtering, then the drop box to the left of the option should be set to ignore.

3) Annotations

Selects items to be resent dependent on the values of the annotations.

This option can be used to either include or exclude messages or documents based on an annotation value. This only applies to annotation values less than 32 characters in length. All the annotation names that are known to the system will be listed.

4) Resending

Selects messages or documents to be resent dependent on their ourting status.

Messages/Documents sent

This option can be used to either include or exclude messages or documents routed to a specific outbound interface. The user can then select the status of the required messages.

After filling in the appropriate details in each field, click on the Select Message/Document button to select the items that match the selection criteria. HL7Connect will then display the number of items that are currently selected based on the criteria provided.
